Nature does not weep for us so much as we weep for ourselves.
The earth is indifferent to our passing. We erect monuments of iron and stone to stave off acceptance of our merely ephemeral presence here. In time everything is dissolved back from whence it came: chaos will encroach and even these monuments will crumble back into the ground. This is not good or bad, it just is.
Approximately 15" x 19". Mixed media on watercolor paper. Frame from Ikea.
